Disposable or Cloth Diapers – The Best for your Kids

Diapers, approximately, make up for a major portion of expenses that parents spend on their kid. Diapers help in providing the comfort to the babies and save the parents (especially mother) the hassles of cleaning the babies. The two most common types of diapers that are used are diapers made of cloths and disposable diapers. Although, disposable diapers may prove to be more costly for you but they offer many benefits and enhanced comfort to your baby making them the better choice among the two. Let’s have a look at some of the major reasons why disposable diapers should be preferred over the traditionally used cloths diapers.

Durable

Disposable diapers are more durable as compared to the diapers made of clothes. They can sustain for a longer period of time without causing much discomfort to the baby whereas cloth diapers need to be taken care of as soon as possible when they get dirty.

No Rashes & Allergies

Diapers made of clothes may not be suitable for all the babies. Since the type of skin differs from baby to baby, cloth diapers may not suit to the skin type and can be a cause of allergic reactions. Rashes on the skin have also been noted more with cloth diapers as compared to the disposable ones. Hence, it is safe to deduce that disposable diapers are more suitable for the baby’s skin in contrast with the cloth diapers.

Easy to adjust

Disposable diapers are easier to adjust and handle as compared to the cloth diapers. Cloth diapers can be very difficult to change and dispose of when they get dirty. However, disposable baby diapers can are easier to handle, and can bedisposed of without any difficulty as well.

Leakage

Disposable diapers are ultra-absorbent, and they have an inner lining that locks the wetness and helps in keeping the skin of the baby dry. However, cloth diapers tend to leak because they are not so absorbent, and that is they cannot be used for a longer period of time.

There is a misconception among many that disposable diapers contain certain chemicals that can cause adverse reactions on the skin of the baby. However, there is no proper evidence and proven studies of the said claim. Furthermore, disposable diapers can be very convenient for you if you are traveling; you can dispose the used diapers on the way, and save yourself the hassles of bringing them back and adding up to the dirty laundry.

The biggest disadvantage with disposable diapers is their adverse effect on theenvironment. They cannot be easily decomposed and studies show that approximate 3.4 million tons of disposable diapers end up in landfill waste. However, keeping apart this environmental factor, disposable diapers can provide comfort to the baby and convenience for the mothers making them the most preferred choice to be used as diapers.
