Home Remedies for Acne

Acne is a very common skin condition that affects millions regardless of age, however, when breakouts occur, many of us often feel less confident and embarrassed. While our first thought to cure acne is by using expensive acne treatments, we rarely realize that natural-home remedies actually are the best cure for fighting acne. Tea Tree Oil :

It consists of natural inflammation-fighting properties, and is considered the most effective cure for acne. Tea tree oil works just as effective as benzoyl peroxide, but without the associated negative side effects you may experience including red, dried and peeling skin. Green Tea :

A combination of antimicrobial and antioxidant compounds, green tea can powerfully fight acne. Drink and infuse your body with green tea; besides drinking, you can use a cooled cup of green tea as a face wash or lay the bag over the affected area.

Honey:

Honey consists of antibiotic properties and is a natural solution for clearing up pimples. Apply a teaspoon of honey to affected areas or even make a mask by mixing ½ cup of honey with 1 cup of plain oatmeal, leave on for 30 minutes.

Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar seriously works wonders for your overall skin and health, but when it comes to acne it is a one of a kind. It kills off the bacteria that may be causing all the trouble in the first place. It manages the pH of your skin, which helps to improve its appearance over time. Apple cider vinegar also acts like lemon juice and will help dry up excess oil. Mix together the apple cider vinegar and water, then using a cotton ball, dip into the mix and apply directly to the affected area. Leave this on for 10 minutes or overnight. You can do this several times a day, washing face thoroughly and then moisturizing after each time.

Aspirin:

Aspirin consists of salicylic acid, which it can dry up pimples and reduce inflammation. Mash up together a few aspirins with a little water to create a paste to apply on area.

Chamomile:

Chamomile helps decrease inflammation from acne. Mash up the contents of a chamomile tea bag with enough water to form a paste, and then apply directly on acne.

Lemons:

Lemon juice contains natural skin bleaching properties as well as vitamin C, which acts as an exfoliant, skin lightener and disinfectant to reduce acne scars and prevent new pimples from forming. Apply a dab of lemon juice, and then rinse with cool water.

Toothpaste:

Toothpaste is an easy and totally doable home remedy. Make sure you use white paste and not gel.

Steam:

Steam will help to open up your pores and flush out all the bacteria. Just fill a pot with high temperature water and place your face in contact with the rising stream. Do this for about 30 minutes and then apply moisturizer over the whole face afterwards.

Garlic Cloves:

Garlic is known for its antibacterial and antiviral properties. Use garlic topically and internally; eating garlic will help prevent pimples, and rubbing it to the affected area will help to diminish your current pimples.
