As with any procedure there are risks involved. One of the main risks is that when a woman goes to have a mammogram done, it is sometimes hard to detect cancer because of the implant. Also, other complications can include loss of feeling in the nipple area due to nerve damage, hardening of the area around the implant and scarring that is not normal or infection.
There are a few things to think about before you decide to have this type of procedure done. While many women are happy with the results of their implants, there are a few that are not pleased with the outcome. It is important to understand that there is no surgeon that can guarantee perfect results. You also need to understand that if you gain weight or lose weight or have any future pregnancies, implants will not prevent sagging. Also, when you get older it is common for breasts to sag and the implants will not prevent this either. Although it is uncommon, implants may leak, change shape or rupture. If this is the case, you may need to have another surgery to replace them or remove them.
